We are pleased to introduce you to the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County Blog. Since opening our doors in 1967, the Volunteer Center has remained committed to providing quality service to our clients and the community. Our belief is that opportunities should be available for all residents to share their skills and time in order to extend human services and participate in their community. The heart of the Volunteer Center is the story of people who choose to share their time and talents to make our community a better place –– to make this a better world.
Volunteers are our hidden heroes. They work in our community on a daily basis contributing to the greater good and provide the anchor to needed social services. We intend to use our blog to celebrate the accomplishment of these volunteers, share the latest national and local news on volunteerism, and to highlight the valued opinions of volunteer advocates.
